A question was recently asked on Facebook, "What is the Greatest Hustle today?"
Here is my response:
The greatest hustle is the sales hustle.
Great question:
What is the greatest hustle?
In my opinion, the water treatment industry is the greatest hustle, and here’s why:
The water treatment industry at the dealer level operates on a quick-sell mentality, which is the biggest scam. People who refer these dealers and homeowners trust them unknowingly. A referral, because it comes from a personal or business trusted relationship, helps the water treatment dealer capitalize on a homeowner's lack of knowledge when buying water treatment equipment.
This is why, in my opinion, the water treatment industry is the greatest hustle.
These companies train their teams to go in for the quick sale and offer limited information on water quality and what happens inside their equipment. They sell "as a trusted water treatment companies and installers entity," without advising what happens to the equipment once it is installed on a home's water supply.
What happens is that they effectively sell you something at the start that will collect dirt, biofilm, and other contaminants, which will never be cleaned out of one’s water softener by themselves.
All this to say: If anyone selling a water treatment system is not advising the consumer on how to keep their water treatment equipment clean and what their plan is to help the equipment being sold flush out dirt, sanitize regularly, and protect your investment, then this is the greatest hustle. They are taking money and claiming to clean your water, but in reality, they are allowing the homeowner's water to turn to filth.
The Greatest Hustle.
